outlier

A few months ago, I stumbled across Outlier, a clothing company that designs and manufactures clothing for urban cyclists. Their garments are simple, durable, and beautiful. They are also expensive since the fabrics are technical and the clothing is handmade in the US. In my opinion, the expense is worth it if you can afford to drop $180 on a pair of pants or $60 on a cap.

I can't, so I'll make my own. I've begun with the cap. Granted, my fabric comes from an old pair of khaki shorts and is not element-proof like the waxed cotton Outlier uses, but I nailed the fit and came pretty close with the look. If I ever get around to making pants or a shirt, I'll put down some money on new fabric.

Thanks Ben. I enjoy sewing more than knitting when the weather gets warm. My hands get too sweaty when I knot, ant the sewing machine is in our cool basement.

You're right, dad. I was just reading up on waxed canvas yesterday, and I think I'm going to try it sometime.
